Yesterday, my lovey dovey and I went on a sushi date with his best friend and mine. So I guess I USED TO have a talent, but he took that away from me. I give him a cd, and he already knows half of the songs. The answer is yes each time I ask if he knows a certain band. *I used to be the mayor of making new cds, but apparently my boyfriend is more musically adequate than I these days. Well, though I've gotten nothing done today it has been pleasant. I owe mostly everything I am to that boy. I think I'm also helping clean up a house to be resold with the fam. I feel we could go a day without talking, though it would bother ME. He never bores me, we just don't talk on a constant basis. I wish my boyfriend and I were like that. We can talk about absolutely anything, and never bore one another. And we never go AN HOUR without talking, which means the world to me.

But I want to definitely spend time with a great friend, whom I haven't seen in nearly three days. I obviously plan to see the river that's a given. So, now that I changed, I think today will have much in store for me. It's also boiling outside, and I put on some jeans. Today I can't decide between a necklace or earrings, and it's getting to me. I wear big earrings, or studs when I'm wearing a long necklace. I just want to be okay with anything I wear someday. And for some reason it's all I can think about. Sendak was an illustrator for other authors, before in 1963 writing and illustrating Where the Wild Things Are. Sendak himself described his childhood as a "terrible situation" due to the death of members of his extended family during the Holocaust. His love of books began when, as a child, he developed health problems and was confined to his bed his inspiration to then become an illustrator came at the age of 12 after watching Walt Disney's film Fantasia. Maurice Sendak (1928 - 2012) was born in Brooklyn, New York, to Polish Jewish immigrant parents. Over 50 years later, the book is a true classic, having sold tens of millions of copies and winning numerous awards including the Caldecott Medal, a special honour for children's book illustration. Upon its release, Where the Wild Things Are attracted criticism for its grotesque characters, with many psychologists claiming the book would traumatise young children. Max is hailed as the king of the Wild Things, but before long begins to feel lonely and decides to sail home. The book ends wonderfully with Max finding his supper, still hot, left for him by his forgiving parents. Max's bedroom transforms into a jungle, before he sails to an island inhabited by frightening beasts, the Wild Things. Where the Wild Things Are follows a young boy named Max who, after dressing in his wolf costume and creating mischief, is sent to bed without his supper.

This joyful collection of prints from the classic children's book Where the Wild Things Are will delight the imaginations of young and old alike.
